With her family by her side, Lois Lee Ellison (née Albares) passed away peacefully on October 23, 2023, at the age of 92. She was born in Reno on April 27, 1931 to Louis and Gladys Albares and had five siblings.
On January 12, 1946 she married Leland Ellison and they had four children. Lois retired from the Washoe County School District after 26 years of service. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many positions in the church throughout her life. She loved the Savior and was a true example of Christ-like love.
Lois was a loving mother and grandmother and helped raise her grandchildren and many other children. She was preceded in death by her husband Leland, three sisters and a brother. She is survived by her four children Scherrie (Mel) English, Wesley (Laurie) Ellison, Dorene Camp and Cindy (Bob) Dennis, brother Louie, 11 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren.
There will be a Celebration of Lois’s life on November 10, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2955 Rock Blvd., Sparks. The viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. with an 11:00 a.m. service. Following the service, Lois will be interred at Mt. View Cemetery, Reno, NV.
