Honoring 160 Years of Community Connection with the Nevada Appeal

On Saturday, May 17, Walton’s Chapel of the Valley is proud to join in a momentous celebration: the 160th anniversary of the Nevada Appeal, Nevada’s oldest continuously operating newspaper.

As a longstanding part of the Carson City community, we are honored to stand alongside other local businesses to recognize this milestone and the important role the Nevada Appeal has played in informing, connecting, and supporting our region for generations.

You’re Invited: Celebrate With Us

We invite you to join us between 2 and 5 p.m. at the Carson City Multi-Purpose Athletic Center, located at 1860 Russell Way.

The event is free and open to the public, offering a great opportunity to explore Carson City’s vibrant local business community, meet neighbors, and discover resources you may not have known were right around the corner.

Meet the Team from Walton’s Chapel of the Valley

At Walton’s, we believe that community is at the heart of everything we do.

During the event, our caring and experienced team from Walton’s Chapel of the Valley will be available to answer your questions, share information about our services, and explain how we support families through life’s most meaningful moments—with dignity, compassion, and care.

Whether you’re interested in pre-planning, have questions about funeral or cremation options, or simply want to stop by and say hello, we welcome the chance to connect with you.

Why This Matters

As the Nevada Appeal marks 160 years of journalism and public service, it serves as a powerful reminder of how vital strong, connected communities are. Walton’s is honored to be part of that fabric here in Carson City, and we look forward to continuing to serve our neighbors with professionalism and care for many years to come.

We hope to see you there.
