Emily has enjoyed being a Funeral Arranger with Walton’s Funerals & Cremations, based mostly out of Ross, Burke and Knobel Mortuary.  She considers herself a “western state girl,” having lived in Washington, California, Arizona and Nevada.

She grew up mostly in the Sacramento, CA and Glenbrook, Nevada areas and learned how to snow ski at Homewood and how to water ski on Lake Tahoe.

She met her husband, Jon, at Northern Arizona University. Married for more than 27 years, they have two beautiful daughters, Kristina and Amanda.  Emily is involved in St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, March of Dimes, and an Alzheimer’s group here in Northern Nevada.  Emily has worked, for the most part, in the medical field and finds there are many similarities in the medical field and the funeral industry, most especially the need for empathy. “Speaking with and getting to know the families who have lost a loved one is an honor and a joy. You get to see a person’s true spirit, and I have cried with, laughed with, hugged, and held hands with many people. I try to lessen the stress of organizing the details for the families so that they can concentrate on their grief and start dealing with their loss. My job is to inform the families of their choices and what I can do for them, and then see it through. I take it very seriously and always do the best I can for each and every family I am in contact with.”
